Have you installed backup disc? Heather

Sorry Micheal, I'm totally puzzled. Usually you just have to click on the FTM icon and the info you were last working on is there. Heather

Are you backing it up on disc each time? Seem to remember i had to install the backup disc when I did that. Heather

Hi Val, I understand that, but surely when i open all info should be there, i've seached the puter all over, gone through files and folders and the hard drive but nothing. Last night i had to do it all AGAIN. Even done scans for virus/spyware/trojans, spotless. Well spotless as a computer can be. Micheal.

I'm not very good at this sort of thing but I remember having a problem once and I'm trying to remember what I'd done wrong. Is your programme the full one or the trial version...I think I had the trial version from a magazine, loaded it onto laptop and then entered the saved data from disc and couldn't edit/update it. I have FTM 2005 which i have put on puter ( about 2 weeks now)loaded everything on, got as far back as 1730's on one line, 1850's on the rest, i thought that backing up all that, all would be fine, but no, all that shows is two names from the 1730's, so somewhere i have gone wrong. Three times i've had to rewrite all the info back in, even the back-up shows the same two names. I have followed all the instructions, but it makes no difference, so PLEASE can someone tell me where i;ve gone wrong. Total time doing all the typing must be two days. It's doing my head-in. Micheal.
