I am trying to find the marriage of John Abbott he was from Beverley and his wife Ann was also from Beverley Yorks. Their eldest son was born 1840, can anyone find a marriage please for me. |

Found this one which you have probably seen. You could order the certificate for the 1840 child? then you would know mother's maiden name. |

The only John Abbott I can see in Beverley 1841 is not married (the one with Dad and Grandad also John?) Have you found something I didn't? |

Can you post what information you have found please. Have you got John & Ann on a Census? I can see an Ann (Mariners wife) in 1851 who's husband is away from home. The eldest son is 11, William Gray Abbott. If this is the family you are tracing I would think Gray could be Ann's maiden name? Also he could have been born before the marriage? Two of their sons had middle name of Gray also one of their grandchildren, never thought of that been a maiden name of Ann |

Helen That does seem to add up dosn't it as he was born Saint Mary and Saint Nicholas, and I have just found a bap for Ann Beaumont 1820 in Saint Mary and St Nicholas with father called Abraham, so if I go to record office and look at this wedding in Hull it should have fathers on it, do you think I can say that we have the right one |

Confused me even more now Helen Sue. If I was to order the marriage certificate For John Abbott and Ann for 1839 do you know the No for it, I can't find it in the bmd only the Yorkshire one that you gave me and it dosn't give me one. |

I thought it best to post the following information here for anyone researching the Abbot(s) of Beverley. In an attempt to trace my family tree I needed to figure out who all the Abbott(s) were in Beverley. |
