If you prefer to keep your tree offline transfer to a more up to date version of Rootsmagic or use a free system such as legacy. Whatever you do follow Erika’s advice, get an external hard drive and copy onto there first.

You can keep your tree on here, or FMP, on Ancestry or familysearch.

Or buy an external hard drive and store all your info on there

I'm just getting back into my genealogy research and I am concerned that my pc is very old and might expire at any moment.
I have Roots Magic 10 Software but am concerned what happens should my pc fail.
What is the best way to keep your records safe, are there any programmes where you can store your work online so that it is always there.
I'm not very computer savvy so would appreciate any advice, I am in the uk if that is relevant. Thanks
