I think ‘open access’ just means it is not sealed.

You may be able to pay for a copy of the report.

He was 33 when he died…..as per death registration transcribed on freebmd, which is free for all to access

Nothing about him in newspapers on FMP………………...OR Ancestry

As suggested above,…………… get copy death cert

Thank you for replying, as the site says access open I thought maybe I could see,
I will try looking as you have suggested and will contact the studies centre after the new year, maybe have a go at the newspaper archive also.

I wouldn’t have thought there would be public access to police reports.

Have you tried looking for local papers?

His death certificate could highlight his manner of death.

Or just ask the Archives when they reopen.

I am not sure how to find out details on my g grandfather, he died in 1928, on the above site it gives a ref number to a police report about his death ,I have tried different ways to search the site but it says no records found, i will put details below to see if anyone more computer savvy can find any way into the record or if there is a block on the record,

POLICE REPORT INTO THE DEATH OF
THOMAS ALFRED LOCKHART
13TH JUNE 1928
REF NUMBER
CBO/32/16/345
I know he died young but not sure what happened to him.
Thank you
