There's no sign of Thomas on irishgenealogy.ie, assuming one of the places called Newry was actually where he was born.

John
His marriage cert (1859) will name his father - assuming he knew him and didn't invent someone.

Have you researched using the following site?

https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/

However, as only 1861 gives a birthplace other than 'Ireland' and there are a number of places names Newry in Ireland (N & S) it may be a fruitless search

Hello Karin,
I am apparently a descendent of Mary Anderson (1831-1884) and Thomas O'Hare (1824-1892) and have been trying to find information about Thomas' parents in Newry. I believe that his father was also called Thomas, but have no information about his mother. During your research did you happen to find any information about the O'Hare family origins in the early years of the 19th century? Thanking you in advance for any information you may have.

Hi Erika,
Yes, that's her! Well done for finding her. Maybe she never married.
I'm off to York Library tomorrow, apparently you can access Ancestry and Find My Past as well.
Thanks again xx

Born where?

Karin

Karin Report 12 Sep 2023 13:43

Thank you!
I've got Ada born in 1905? So a marriage could be around 1925?
Unless I have the wron Ada.
I'll check any marriages around that time.
Thanks,
Karin.
