If both parents had strong links to seperate churches, I would think it was very possible. Also possible that the families changed religous views at some point and felt the need to have a second baptism. |

In the 1841 census a person's birthplace was not specifically detailed. The only indication being whether or not the place in which they were born was in the same county as the place they were now living. |

Do the baptisms refer to the same childen, or did some children die and were other children baptised with names of their earlier siblings.? |

Have you looked at the baptisms on the IGI on familysearch.org? It could be where the other person has got their information from. |

I have actually seen records where it is obvious that one person had been baptised twice |

- just to add that the parish relief system meant that when someone fell on hard times, the parish officers would check which parish they "belonged" to - i.e. where they were baptised. If that was a different parish, then the individual would have to go back to where they were baptised in order to seek relief. |

Although much later than your query, one of mine was baptised twice, once as a babe, and later on his admission to school. |
