George Brooks was baptised at St Mary the Virgin, Newport on 28th February 1847, the son of William and Keziah Brooks. William was a labourer. |

I can't see another George Brooks baptised at Newport around 1843. There is a William son of William & Keziah baptised May 26th 1844. |

If you get the marriage certificate it will have George's Father's name on it. |

In the 1851 census his age is given as 4 which is probably the most accurate and ties in well with the above baptism date. |

The marriage data for Newport post 1837 is not yet on line at SEAX. When it is you will be able to see the parish records for church marriages in Newport for a subscription to SEAX (which is run by the Essex Record Office). A day's subscription costs £5. The information on the parish record (post 1837) is just the same as the marriage data on a certificate. |

I don't think SEAX stands for anything exactly, just something like Search Essex Archives. |
