I'm suspecting they might have married abroad. |

Thanks Brummiejan, not interesting enough perhaps!I was hoping he may have been the son of a James and Elizabeth (Gabriel) Smithies who married in Lancashire in 1905.They may be living in the Chorley District of Lancashire |

We need to find them then. Have you asked on another thread? If not give us some details - place and YOB, and James' occupation. |

Not quite able to pin them down - unless someone else has more luck you could really do with the marriage cert for a bit more info. |

Thanks Brummiejan, all this is arising oout of the marriage as I stated that of James Smithies and Elizabeth Ann Gabriel which took place in the Prestwich District of Lancashire in 1905.The Elizabeth Ann being my probable relative. There is much later on a death would you believe it in 1984! of an Elizabeth Ann Smithies in Launceston Cornwall? whose given birthdate corresponds with the birth of my Elizabeth Ann Gabriel in 1878 in the Wrexham District of Denbighshire. |

So, you've based it all on the death of Elizabeth Ann Smithies? I can see what you have done, very clever! Makes perfect sense but still can't find them 1911!! |
