Actually ;Go on Freebmd enter his surname and her given name,chose the approx year span and area to get her maiden and find her in census before marriage.If it tallies with the 1881 then you have his name. |

Hi, please help! i don't know the first name of my ancestor only the surname. i can find his wife and children on the 1871 and 1881 census but by 1891 she was widowed. i can't search earlier census as they were married after the 1861 census and all i have for him is his surname. does anyone know how i can search for him another way please? |
