There shouldn't be any difference betweeen the Ancestry editions but at times there is. The library edition at times runs very slow and you are unable to find the info you are looking for,.This makes you look as a kind of an idiot when you are supposed to be an expert in helping someone to trace their family tree |

In the 1901 census there is an Edward Noble aged 30 living at 15 Newgate Street , Morpeth - south of Alnwick. He is described as a plumber and is living with his family including Thomas his father a plumber. Could it be a family firm and he was commuting during the week? |

Have you tried looking for him with just his initials. He might be a patient in Hospital or Jail |

Malcolm - Ancestry doesn't transcribe the occup (except 1881), so that won't work. |
