I think you need to track down one of his children and apply for that birth cert. Louisa's age is different on the 1871 and 1881 so not sure when she was born - age says 6 on the 1871 and I wonder whether they meant 6months. That would fit with the age 10 on the 1881. |

I really appreciate your look- up Esta- thanks but this was the info I found on the 1881 census. Can I find his marriage cert from this info? I expect I could find it on Ancestory but I don't subscribe at the moment. |

There won't be a birth certificate if he was born c.1833 as registration didn't start until 1837 and wasn't compulsory until 1875. |

I have found my gg grandfather Thomas Parker, b 1833 in Penge Surrey,on the 1881 census when he was a married man but he doesn't appear on any previous ones as a child. I am trying to find his parents & I thought this would be a good source but..... Can't find his birth cert either ! |
