If Lilian was his G/mother have you thought about tracing her through the census to see which one of her daughters married a Smith |

So he was born between the 3rd April 1900 and 2nd April 1901. Do you have the grandmothers name? perhaps you could pick her out in say the 1881/91 with his parent? |

There is also this Alfred Smith in 1911 who's place of birth is given as Kings Cross. |

All these possibles in Kings Cross area appear in the 1911 census...... if you know the parents names you could search for them ,and match up with Alfred on the search. |

Christine - how do you know he was born in Kings Cross? If you have an address this would be helpful. Also, maybe the genealogy service in London could help - someone on here doubtless knows who to contact. Even if you find him, you will need his parents' names I think. |

Do you know his parent's names, or his exact date of birth, if not, you may order the wrong cert. |
