Hi, yes dates are confusing Joseph J brothers my granddad born 1880 his brother born 1873 both on a baptism list for 1880. |

The Joseph Littlewood who dies in East Retford Dec Qtr 1911 has no second initial recorded, which would fit this birth and where he was living in 1911 |

Just not sure which is the correct information, on one site it shows Kent on another it shows the workhouse Nottinghamshire inc a picture, I have checked on this so many times but just end up with the same two options. |

Workhouses usually had a hospital which served the poor of the area, so your idea is almost certainly correct. |
