I am looking for parents of a Lucy Bounds born 1870? Damerham? married 1887 Alderbury Wiltshire to Frank Whitlock. I cannot find a birth only ref. is marriage and 1901 census .

Thanks...I have found the workhouse reference you gave. That is it..As she was born between census I cannot see how to find her parents..Perhaps she was an orphan or a mistake! I seem to have a lot of workhouse inmates in my tree.

Her marriage certificate will give her father's name.

Ernest Alfred Bound baptised 27/3/1864 South Damerham by William Austin Bound and LUCY Louisa Bound.
1871 Ernest Alfred a orphan in orphanage in Gloucestershire.
He the goes to Wales marries and dies in 1939 he was a Butcher.

Could he be a brother to Lucy??

I can't find any further info on the parents,other than William Austin Bound baptised 1829 by William and Jane Bound.

Drowned.—On Tuesday last the dead body of a man, named William Austin Bound who was formerly well known in this city, was found on the shore at Crosby, about five miles from Liverpool. The deceased was formerly in the Peninsular And Oriental Company's service, as a chief steward on board one of their steamers, but he has for some time been residing in Australia, where it is understood he kept an hotel. It is said he had come over this country to fetch his two children, who were formerly at Mr. Zillwood's school in Bedwin Street, in this city, but who are at present residing with their grandparents at Damerham. It has not yet been ascertained how the deceased got into the water, nor in fact how he came to be in the neighbourhood of Crosby, for he had been lodging at Birkenhead, which is situated about six miles higher up the Mersey, and on the opposite side to Crosby.
