Find Ancestors

Hello , Can anyone help me with this puzzle I have traced the Harper family in Chester, a relative gave me the names of the following family Harpers
Mary , Edith ,Edwin, Annie ,Lucy ,John,James,Emma,Amy all born between 1882 and 1900 My relatives tells me that their parents were James Harper and Mary OBrien but in the 1901/1911 census its gives the parents as James and Harriett . Relative gives the same street as in the census Pycroft Street Chester .I did think maybe James and Harriett were Aunt Uncle etc but census shows them as parents and John senor as head

Have you looked to see whether any James Harper ever actually married a Mary O'Brien?

All records show the parents as JOHN and HARRIET

Yes but not found any records showing the marriage between Harper and Mary OBrien so it does looks like my relative as got things mixed up
