I'm looking for any information on the above who was murdered I believe in 1830 in Maryport. I have found the newspaper cuttings of his death. But I would like to find his DOB and any family info. |

A tree on Ancestry has him born 1779 in Dearham (Cumberland) and marrying an Ann Walker in 1803, would that be correct? |

I'm afraid it is word of mouth at moment, I'm waiting for the info of my cousin. I'm also going to Dearham this weekend to see if I can find out more. Sorry all new to this. As my family have all gone and nobody seems to know much. Not very helpful I know |

Lesley, there is only one way to do this research and that is to work back methodically, starting with what you know as fact. This might be as recent as your grandparents' marriage, for example. |

Doesn't the newspaper cutting say how old the man was when he died? |

Lancaster Gazette of 30 January 1830 just says Mr Brown had a wife and several children. No age mentioned. |
