well

I like spaghetti

but I don't like marmite .... or vegemite

and I don't make things, or use things, that I don't like!

:)))

Thank you all for your condolences. We'd known G since we came here in 1968, and did a lot of things with him and his wife for quite a few years, then gradually grew away from each other socially, as such things happen.

I missed the Marmite wotsit...I LOVE it...spread it so thick it drips off the toast

Same with Colemans mustard....spread it like tom sauce so it burns your lips...

...yum

None of this American rubbish that mom used to like...ewwee

SylviaInCanada Report 14 Oct 2010 21:31

Gins

lile you, I don't like the American stuff. Not even too fond of Dijon

I make my own mustard as we need it

Buy Colman's powdered mustard, and just make it to order

You can make it hotter just by varying the amount of water you put in it

and yes, I can buy Colman/Keenes mustard powder over here!

I don't like pasta....it reminds me of dogsick.

Lurvve Marmite though.

I can remember pulling out a chest freezer when my son was about 5 years old. He hoisted himself over to look down behind it and uttered those immortal words..."Oh my God". I was mortified....in more ways than one ;))

Gee

Gee Report 14 Oct 2010 21:38

Cyn...you’ve had over cooked pasta....like the tinned stuff

It should be al dente...to the tooth

11 minutes in boiling water - just right.

I spent over 50 years hating the horrible slimy stuff, then I tried cooking it myself and it can be REALLY nice.

OH once pulled a thing hanging from the ceiling ........ in a hotel bathroom

turned out it was the disabled "help" call line

that's why it was red ........ bright red

I got the phone call from the desk, asking if we were alright.

himself had already retreated into the bathtub, so I had to do the apologetic bit!
