I bl##y know she is as I had looked at that one earlier, just not followed it through.
Dont need to now cos you have.

Still dont explain why she aint got her first married name on the childs birth cert as Late West like most of em would have...

Ta ....:)

Cynthia Report 14 Oct 2010 17:48

Ah well, if she's a West, that would explain it! I have a very large West tree..........and I seem to have inherited the West gene for being crackers!

Oh joy, such a peaceful day. Nice easy tea. All convenience stuff....shock, horror.

Am trying to persuade OH that we need a couple of adulty type bean bags for the grandkids to sit on when I have a room full of adults on the chairs. Think I'm winning.....may have to remind him that perhaps it was HIS idea......it wasn't, but he'll be flattered! Oh the joys of being married for such a long time...........:))

Frozed peas here I come.

Hi all

Glad you enjoyed the breakfast ..... did none of you find the second lot of cooked things that I hid on the second warmer so Dea wouldn't find them? Tut tut!

I didn't tell you that we got home on Monday to news that one of OH's old colleagues had died on Sunday.

G was about 77, had diabetes (and lost a leg because of it about 5 years ago) ......... and not only was he a very good botanist, but he was also the world's expert on Rachmanninov discography (which I think means all the cds, records, etc ever put out of a composer's works).

OH was busy working on G's obituary for the university in one of his university offices when the hard drive "blew up" ..... so they are buying him a new computer ........ but he has had to finish it here at home today 'cos it's needed for Friday.

It was a beautiful sunny Fall day yesterday, but today is ............ rain and much colder!

Huge noises in the kitchen now as the men have started laying the floor ....

First problem .......... old tiles not completely level, but worked out it will be against the wall under one of the cabinets, so the cabinet maker will shim the new cabinet.

Second problem ......... fridge and stove wouldn't go out through either of the door arches (no doors on either). Can't understand that as both of them came in through one of the arches only a couple of years ago! Anyway, the men are moving the appliances from one end of the kitchen to the other as needed.

Third problem .............. they discovered that the estimator forgot to order the glue for sticking down the vinyl. Solution .......... wait for them to order it, and 5 days before they could come back. OR for Iain to drive down to a store and buy it, then get refunded by the company.

So ....... OH drove down to find this store and buy the glue!

Ah well!

Hope the sickies are feeling better

Sylvs, I don't envy you one little bit. Glad you sent your OH for the glue as waiting for 5 days would not be funny.

Don't know what's wrong with this lot at all! Maybe they have Ancestryitis???

SylviaInCanada Report 14 Oct 2010 19:34

Hangs head in shame

.... OH just came into tell me that when the men rolled the fridge back across the kitchen, it left a large roll of dust behind it!

One of the largest dust bunnies OH said he had ever seen.

Oh well ...... I don't claim to be a good housekeeper!!

OOhh So many things going on for you at the moment - computers blowing up, lack of glue, delayed kitchens and poor OH having to work on the obituary for his old colleague. I hope he is getting on o.k. with it, it can't be an easy task.

At the same time, you still turn up cheerful as ever to provide us all with a good breakfast to see us through the day. - MANY thanks, it is appreciated.

Dea x

By the way, the didn't find the extra brekkie in the second warmer as I had hidden it away and came back to gobble it for my lunch !!

Tee hee !!

Dea Xxx

P.S. - I didn't really but I will do if you do that again tomorrow - I know the secret now!

I have emailed the Army record to her - along with a lot of cuttings from newspapers - gt grampa - was a bit of a yob - knocking down fences -letting of fireworks etc

Spaghetti I can cope with occasionally if it is cooked correctly.

Marmite is quite nice occasionally, in the right context.

BUT.... Spaghetti with Marmite . YYuuukk ! NNNNNNNoooooooooooo !!

Sylvia

What a shame about OH friend -

dont worry about the dust - we only roll ours out and hoover the motor and the panel at the back every couple of months and it piles up - very quickly

So just say My all that dust in only a few weeks !!!

renes

Dea

Dea Report 14 Oct 2010 20:52

I use that same excuse when it is really 'only a couple of years' - SAD or what ???

My house used to be quite clean but having been 'incapacitated' for over 2 years, it has gone 'quite downhill' - I find that the dust level over a couple of weeks if not far off that over a couple of months, so people don't think too much of it.

However, it is now getting 'out of hand' so I am tackling it one bit at a time.

I reckon it will take me at least 6 months to get around the whole house so it will then look like I haven't done it for a couple.

Then, If I can keep it going, I should have it just looking 'normally grubby' 3 months later.

Christmas 2011 should therefore see it almost sparkle.

Only time I have pulled my fridgefreezer out is when I move or when I needed the new one a short while ago.
The gap it is in is so tight I would really struggle anyway.
I cant see the dust/dirt so it cant be there can it???

Renes

Renes Report 14 Oct 2010 21:08

I do not eat any `pasta - and I dont like marmite - to salty

but Ginny loves marmite and she eats pasta -

so I was thinking of her -----------

Nigella - loves it - and the recipe comes from some well known Italian cookery writer

Edit -----------Serve it Sylvia - if it puts Dea off - we might have some brekkie left !!!!!

Dea

Dea Report 14 Oct 2010 21:12

Cheeky Renes !!

Sylvs would not serve that 'muck' as my grandad would say, and I think that 'well known Italian Cookery writer 'wants shooting' !!

Only 'my' opinion though.
