Do you not have ancestry then Renes? They are better than the trees on here I dont use this one.
I like doing the street search on FMP being nosey. They gave me 20% off so thought I would give it a go

FMP have let me down today - I am up for renewal and they said they would take it automatically and they haven't so I have been without 1911 for almost a whole day now !!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't stand it ! - I feel like my fingers have been cut off!

I will be on the phone first thing tomorrow to sort it out but I have withdrawal symptoms already !

I like FMP for the census cos it gives all the occupations addresses etc on the transcriptions so they dont need looking at on the images unless you want to double check, cept for 1871 of course where they dont give proper birth place ,only the county nor any occupations.

But I like Ancestry too cos if someone dont turn up on one they normally turn up on tother..

And both have something the other doesnt.

My renewal went through automatic Dea..No prob for me there..he he.
But I have to go on different browser from my normal one to access passenger lists, never did get it sorted out..

Renes I dont get you re the Spencer thread?

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 10 Oct 2010 16:12

Gins, it looks like Ron Restall has put the name Restall into the filter box looking for other Restall's and it has brought up the Spencer thread because it has the name Restall in it. I would guess he is new and hoping that all the Restall's on here will get in touch with him!! I spend so much time sorting things like this out that it's unreal!

Do you want me to send him a message? Up to you.

Glad you explained it to her Cyn,I knew what Renes meant but was hoping against hope Gins would figure it out herself...:))

Gins, - Could it be fife??? - smaller and more high pitched form of flute ??

It is the only thing I can think of - fe would mean female, f would be a note, but I don't know where the 'i' would come in ??

Probably not then??

Renes Report 10 Oct 2010 16:58

I posted on here which was preferred - as I had finished my tree earlier this year - except flor 3 or 4 - lost souls

Am digging around for late 1600s early 1700 for my Palmers and Turners - but use the Parish records via Dorset OPC - so did not really need either

But life without a bit of brain work is not the best for people my age - know what they

Use it or lose it

Have my crafts but it is not really brain work

So thought I would try some look ups

- although it is really difficult - it is not the same as when working on your own tree - you know all the people concerned - if you get my meaning - still it keeps me amused

Forgot to say - got FMP

See what I mean - use it or lose it

Could be a little late for me !!!

Dea

Dea Report 10 Oct 2010 17:00

I find other peoples trees much easier to look up than my own Renes, though they do take longer as you have to back and forth through all the census to 'get a picture'

Cynths,

I have never heard you 'sheeeesh before - you must be exasperated !!! ??
