HFN's age is clear on the 1911 censuus although it was put in the wrong column and scrubbed. I have checked FMP by village rather than name to see if he was hiding under an unreadable. And father is given as James Newman rather than Fountain.

Get the polish out again Cyn....

Jane Davies that GRO could not be bothered to search for as there were "too many Jane Davies,s"has been found in Tredegar many calls later through the county of Monmouth as the records have been shifted many times since 1850 ...
Took them 10 mins to call me back and say,we have her, parents as you say and born the month you say..HA.
Stick that where the sun dont shine GRO..

Take some lessons from Tredegar very nice registrar people on how to do a job GRO!

SHOP BOUGHTEN CAKE GINS?
Cant cook, wont cook, too busy to cook,or just a rubbish cook??

My dad always says he dont want shop BOUGHTEN eggs, thats why I use the word and he keeps hens for his eggs.
2 fried eggs on dipped in hot cooking oil bread everyday he has, plus pounds of cheese a week and cream and every other bad thing you can think of.
82 and still going strong,so all this fuss about foods is a load of cobblers I reckon.
His dad was the same, died age 86 though, said he was tired and wanted to go home after working in the garden, went indoors, sat in the chair and that was that,,
hope dad lasts a bit longer than that.

Mother bought brother a nice watch one year and brother left it in his jeans pocket when he put them in the laundry basket.
Mother never ever went/goes through pockets first, said she had better things to do.
Watch,KAPUT.
She would also put socks in the machine still rolled up and then on the line and then on the bed of the persons they were..
Also threw brothers new Guernsey pure wool jumper in the machine as she wouldnt wash by hand.
Oooops.
Bro went spare and said if she had told him it needed washing by hand HE would have washed it by hand.
She wouldnt buy him a new one either, to add insult to injury.

My eldest brother had an Omega watch for his 21st....went on holiday and lost it!

Me, I got a second hand silver watch out of mothers jewellery box as a second thought as she had forgot I was 21....I dont know where it went

A student of mine got married the other week, went on honeymoon and lost his wedding ring....gutted

Fans...youre mom should have bought him a new jumper though

Fans is always Bizzzzzzzzzzzzy.

I am just ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzy !! - Grandson has worn me out again!! He was in such a mischievous mood today - running around - 'you can't catch me' - 'I can drop my dinner down my front and throw it across the room quicker than you can catch it' etc !

He got a good telling off but just sparkled his eyes at me and gave me 'that grin' and then we had to sing 'Oh the grand old duke of York 'VERY VERY fast 'all the way home ... exhausting!!
