Hi Emma
My name is Margareand I now live in Australia. I've just come across Genesreunited and registered.
The first message i came across was yours posted in 2008/2009 and hope you are still searching for JohnJames McCann because i think we are related!
My paternal grandmother was Margaret Francis - born in Taghmon, Co Wexford in 1880. She married Thomas McCann (spelt in various ways eg> McAnn, M'Cann.) in 1905. Unfortunately i don't have information on Thomas's family but Margaret Francis and Thomas McCann had 2 children - Bridget Mary - born in 1906 and commonly referred to as Molly - and John James born in 1908 - both children born in Taghmon. Molly married William Waters (probably from Taghmon) and i believe they had 5 children - William, John, James (who apparently died in London), Thomas and Eileen.
Margaret Francis's husband, Thomas McCann was killed in an accident in 1909. In the 1911 Irish Census of Taghmon, Margaret McCann and these 2 children are located in her parents' house.
In 1911, I understand that Margaret was remarried - to Aiden O'Connor (my grandfather) and they had 3 children - Laurence (my dad), Martin and Bridget Patricia - commonly referred to as Tish.
So, I really hope you're still connected with Genesreunited and receive this message.

Did John James McCann have any brothers, maybe a William Edward born 1904?

My Grandfather, John James McCann was born in 1908 in County Wexford Ireland. I know he had two sisters, a wife and several children. I know his sons name was John, but i have no details of anyone else.

He moved from Ireland before 1950 and set up a bicycle shop. He settled down with my grandmother Jean Beardsmore in Stafford and they had ten children: John(another), Julian, Joseph, Jason, Justin(My father), Jordan, Julie, Judith, Janice and Joy. I apologuise for all the J, my grandmother had a warped sense of humor lol all the initials of the children are E.

He died in Foxwalls Residential Home, Marston Road, Stafford in 1995.

Could anyone help me piece his family together from Ireland? Including my half-aunts and uncles.
