I put a message on here a few days ago looking for my grandfather I thought he was in the canadian airforce but have since found out it was the Canadian army he would have been posted in possibly Southwick Brighton, England around about 1945 all we know is his name was Gene Guitar but we have no idea how it was spelt ( it could have been Eugene or Jean and possibly Guitard or another spelling. My nan was called Winifred Florence Hollingdale and fell pregnant with my mum when she was 22 and wanted to go back to Canada with the father but her family did not think it was a good idea so they lost contact. We have so little information it would be fantastic if someone could help us fit together our jigsaw. Does anyone know where in Brighton the canadian army would have been stationed or which regiments would have been there. |
