Hi, I am trying to find information on the following people.. I found them in the 1911 census in Liverpool but am not sure where to go next..
Walter John Holland ~ Jun 1881in Huyton, Lancashire, England
Mary Elizabeth Whittle (1881in Liverpool)
Walter Holland (5 years old)
Lucy Holland (4 years old)
Edna May Holland (2 years old)
Baby Holland (3 days old)
I am hoping to find living descendents of these people in the hope that they can tell me something about Walter John's family.

Hi, Thanks to everyone who has had a look for me.. I have Walter John's family history.. I'm hoping to find information on his children so that I can move forwards.. I have had a look at the Lancashire BMD but I'm getting confused as the ages on the 1911 census don't match the birth records..
There is a record of a Walter Holland born in 1905 but nothing for 1906.. The BMD for Lancashire wouldn't be wrong would it? Then there is a Lucy Holland in 1906... Can't find any record of Edna May on there and as for baby Holland!!
Also would like to find out about Mary Elizabeth Whittle but there seems to be a few of them in Liverpool! I'm not doing very well!!

You're best to look on FREEBMD and remember that the age given on a census can be out by 1 year quite easily, all that was put down on a census was their age when the census was taken so if Walter was born in May the census would state he was aged 5 but 2 months later he would be 6 so giving another year to him almost.

The age on the census is as at the specific date on which the census was taken.

For example:-

Census date 31st March 1911 (not sure of exact date, but that's irrelevant)

Child born 30th March 1902 - age 9, est birth year 1902

Child born 1st April 1902, - age 8, est birth year 1903

To find out about the mother, you need the marriage cert, as it will include her father's details

The baby was a little girl..I know Mary Whittle had a brother as on the census it has "Elizabeth Whittle" Sister in Law visiting..

I shall look into the two children you have found Flick, that's really helpful!

I would like to find some living descendents as we know nothing about that side of the family and it would be interesting for us to know where we came from!

Baby must have been born March 1911 as the census says that she was 3 days old!
